Hi everyone,
It's Linda, with some upcycling for you today.
Sometimes when you're really lucky, a fabulous box falls into your hands. This one was strong, with a magnetic closing plus a handle and as I looked at it, I realized it would be perfect to hold my colouring pages. I take monthly classes at Kit and Clowder and my pages were always scattered everywhere... not anymore!
With a few stamps and some beautiful Media Assemblage paper by Nicole Wright, plus a tag that I made on this post here, the box above turned into the one below!
I started out by applying some Evergreen Bough distress ink through a Stamperia stencil, to one of the papers in the collection.
Over top of that I heat embossed two stamped images using the Wild Whisper Stump stamp.
The tag that I made using Nicole's Botanic Stamp and a flair button, was added next.
I stamped those cute little bees randomly here and there. They can be found in the Strength of the Season stamp set. I also stamped "live life in full bloom" at the top - it came from the same stamp set.
The inside is finished very simply with a couple more pieces from the Media Assemblage collection. Just opening it up and seeing all those pretty colours makes me happy!
It does the job it was created for just perfectly!
I hope I've inspired you to do some up-cycling. It is very rewarding to keep something from going in the garbage!
