Beautiful Wall Hanging by Cathy

Cathy Potosky is back today with a home decor project using the Eileen Hull Trinket Box die! Cathy used this die for its main intent last week, which you can see here, and we also love this unique project that helps to stretch its use. Cathy will take it from here!
So has everyone watched every video possible from the Creativation show floor?! I think I have LOL, but needed to take a break and get creative in my space! For today's project I used the Strong & Free Collection and yes it is one of my favorites! I created a new home decor piece for my wall.
I started with paper from the collection and the Trinket Box die from Eileen Hull. I used Be Creative Tape to adhere my paper to the mat board and used Archival Black to stamp my images on the paper.
Once I had my pieces cut out, I inked the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink. I also fussy cut the maple leaf stamp and the strong and free stamp. Before doing the center of the frames, I did the edges in Emerald Creek Rose Gold embossing powder and Burnt Copper Leaves. I do have an embossing pen but it is pretty used up, so here's a quick tip. If you need to do a small space and the dauber is just too big, use a small paint brush. I just dipped my brush in the bit of embossing ink the lid and painted it on. Works great and gives you good solid coverage.
To attach all my pieces together I used the Twist and Style tool (also by Eileen Hull) to prep my wire, a looser twist and tighter twist are show here. I just love how uniform I can get the twist with this tool!
Here are pics of three separate pieces that make up the wall art. The oval center piece is just the cut out part from the frame, no wasting anything! I painted the metal rose with alcohol ink and set in the center of a white Prima flower. I highlighted bits of the leaves with some metallic wax and used a touch of iridescent paint on one of the white flowers.
And the whole wall art all together.
I left the back side flat so it hung better against the wall, but both sides are good to go for showing. I used a different card from the card pack for the back of the bottom piece.
Thank you for visiting Wild Whisper and stayed tuned for new collections coming soon!! And trust me...you don't want to miss out on these!
