Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! I'm back with one more blog post for this month and I'm sharing my Cabin Life Tag which features the Lake Life Collection. As soon as I saw this collection, I knew that I wanted to use the collection to create a tag. So for todays project, I've used a variety of the papers from the Lake Life Collection, the card pack, the ephemera and the Flair buttons to create my Cabin Life Tag. You'll want to grab a glass of your favourite summer beverage as I walk you through how to recreate my piece at home.
To start, you'll need a small Etcetera Tag. Apply three coats of White Gesso to the tag and the reinforcement circle.
Choose a stencil to do some stencilling on your tag. I chose a hexagon. Place the hexagon onto the tag and put texture paste through the stencil with a palette knife. Repeat this until you have three textured areas.
With the stenciled area dry, adhere the reinforcement circle to the top of the tag. Sprinkle Olive, Cerulean Blue and Chartreuse Magenta Nuance powder randomly over the tag. Spritz the powder with water. Allow the tag time to dry.
Using a Black Soot Distress Crayon, run the crayon around the edges of the tag and reinforcement circle with your finger.
To finish off the base of tag, apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the X stamp from the Rooted Love collection. Stamp the X stamp randomly on the tag. Continue stamping until there are four areas with X's on them.
From the floral paper, fussy cut two-two bunch flowers, one single yellow bunch flower, three navy flowers and two yellow flowers. Ink the edges of the flowers using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose one flair button out of the Lake Life package.
From the Lake Life ephemera package, pull out the two paddles, a house and a canoe. Ink the edges of the images using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Lake Life Card Pack you'll need the following cards: 4x6 card with house, 4x6 card with half floral, 3x4 cabin life, 3x4 floral and 3x4 lake life. Cut the 4x6 card with the house down to 3 1/4" x 4", fussy cut the house out of the other portion. Cut the 4x6 card with half floral down to 3" x 6". Cut the 3x4 floral card into three pieces: 1 1/2" x 3", 1 1/2" x 3" and 1" x 3". Cut a piece off of the 3x4 lake life card that measures 1 1/8" x 3". Ink the edges of all of the cards and the house using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose two border strips. Cut one border strip down to 4 1/2". Cut the other border strip down to 4 1/4". Ink the edges of both border strips using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the canoe paper, cut a piece that measures 3 1/4" 4 1/4". Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Get a tag and cut it down to 4 3/4". Trace the tag around the leaf paper. Cut the tag out of the leaf paper. Ink the edges of both tags using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam. Adhere the patterned paper tag to the tag. Punch a hole at the top of the tag.
From the rain paper, cut a piece that measures 4" x 5 1/2". Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the circle paper, fussy cut the arrow & logos and the relax and unwind circle. Cut the relax and unwind circle in half. Ink the edges of both circles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Now it's time for assembly.
Adhere the 1 1/2" x 3" floral piece 1" from the left and 1 1/2" from the bottom of the tag. Adhere the cream 1 1/8" x 3" piece 1 5/8" from the bottom and 1/4" from the right of the tag. Adhere the tag 1/4" from the right and 1/2" from the left of the tag. Adhere the Lake life piece 1/4" from the right and 1 5/8" from the top of the tag. Adhere the other 1 1/2" x 3" floral piece 1 1/4" from the left and 2" from the top of the tag.
Adhere the rain paper 1/4" from the right and 2 3/8" from the top of the tag. Adhere the faded floral piece 1" from the left and 3 1/4" from the top of the tag. Adhere the 1" x 3" floral piece 1 1/8" from the left and 3 1/2" from the top of the tag.
Foam square the floral border card 1/8" from the right and 2 1/4" from the top of the tag. Adhere the cabin life card to the canoe paper. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the canoe paper 7/8" from the right and 3 1/8" from the top of the tag.
Adhere the 4 1/2" border strip 2 1/4" from the bottom and all the way to the edge of the floral border card. Adhere the 4 1/2" border strip 2" from the bottom of the tag and all the way to the edge of the floral border card.
Adhere the canoe below the cabin life card. Adhere the relax and unwind circle underneath the floral piece. Adhere the circle with the arrow & symbols just below the leaf patterned tag. Use foam squares to adhere the large house to the right of the cabin life card. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the other house to the left of the large house. Adhere the paddles behind the large house.
To the left of the canoe, adhere the flair button. In the top left hand corner of the cabin life card use adhesive and foam squares to adhere all of the flowers.
