Combining Collections with Jenn

Hello Jenn here!  I am still going strong with my love of combining all of Wild Whisper's collections.  It's a great way to really get the most out of every single collection.  It's definitely a great feeling to be using up my stash and creating fun layouts that I really love.

The picture I chose for this layout, of the two boys standing in the ocean at St. Martins sea caves, is a little bit dark, and doesn't have a ton of colour to it, so I pulled out papers that were a little bit brighter, and in blue tones to contrast with the photo.  I chose scrap from Sweater Weather and Palm Paradise.  I was going to use navy blue cardstock for the background but decided to try the compass paper from Roadtrip to give the layout a little nautical detail.  I also added a layer of red paper from the Strong and Free collection because it matched both of the boys hoodies and added that little pop of a contrasting colour into the layers.  When I'm using scraps of paper I generally let the sizes and shapes of the papers guide the design of the layout and just layer things together in a way that they all seem to fit nicely.

Once I got the layers put down, I went through all the journal cards to see if I could find one as a title.  This is definitely a go-to technique for me because Heather and Suzy always have the best journal cards and there are so many that work perfectly as a layout title.  I chose the card 'Some Beautiful Paths Can't be Discovered Without Getting Lost" from the Out and About collection.  I also used a card from the updated Adventures collection, along with several pieces from the ephemera pack.  I mixed in some flowers from the Floral ephemera pack to bring in a little more of the orangey-red colour, as well as a camera from Where to Next, and a flair from Roadtrip.  I finished the layout with some exclusive SpiegelMom Scaps sequins that I placed on top of the little dots in the Sweater Weather paper.

I'm really loving how easily all of these combination layouts are coming together and how beautifully all of the different Wild Whisper collections work together.  I'm so proud of myself to be getting all of my Wild Whisper stash used up.  For more information about this layout, head over to my Youtube Channel for the process video.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Please feel free to use my discount code DTJENN at checkout to get 10% off of your next purchase and until next time, Happy Scrapping :)
