Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! For today's post, I created this Creative Maker Tag. To create my tag, I've used the Handmade Collection. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Creative Maker Tag at home.
To start, you'll need a white tag that measures 3 1/8" x 6 1/4". From the Handmade 4x6 Stamp Set, you'll need the quilt stamp. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the stamp and start stamping at the top left side of the tag. Reapply ink to the stamp and continue stamping until the tag is covered. To cover the quilt blocks, I used a water brush and Scribble Sticks in Lemon, Turquoise, Blackberry, Night, Eggplant and Peacock. You can use whatever colour medium you'd like. Once the coloured images have dried, ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a Blending Tool with foam.
Next you'll need the Handmade 12x12 Paper Pack. Cut the blue sewing machine paper to 1/2" x 4 3/4". Cut the button paper to 3/4" x 2 7/8". Cut out three quilt blocks into a strip. Sand the edges of all three papers.
Choose border strips from the bottom of the patterned paper. Cut one border strip to 5 1/2". Cut the other border strip to 5". Sand the edges of both border strips.
From the cut apart paper, fussy cut the paint palette and two paint tubes. Sand the edges of the images.
From the quote paper, cut out the Creative word strip and Maker word strip. Cut both strips smaller. Sand the edges of both word strips.
Next, you'll need the Handmade Card Pack. Cut the purple button card to 1 3/4" x 4 1/4". Cut the stripe card to 1" x 4". Cut the yellow ruler card to 1 1/4" x 4". Sand the edges of the three patterned papers. From the paintbrush card, fussy cut four paintbrushes out.
Adhere the purple button paper 1/8" from the left and 7/8" from the bottom of the tag. Adhere the sewing machine paper 1 1/4" from the right and 1/2" from the bottom of the tag. Adhere the stripe paper 3/8" from the left and 5/8" from the bottom of the tag. Adhere the yellow ruler paper 7/8" from the right and 7/8" from the bottom of the tag.
Staple the 5 1/2" border strip 1" from the left and 1/2" from the top of the tag. Staple the 5" border strip 7/8" from the left and 7/8" from the top of the tag.
Adhere the quilt block strip 1/2" from the left and 1 3/8" from the bottom of the tag. Adhere the four paint brushes to the left side of the paint palette as desired. Foam square the paint palette 1/4" from the left and 1 5/8" from the bottom of the tag.
Adhere the Creative Maker word strips to the right of the paint palette as desired. Adhere the two paint tubes to the bottom side of the paint palette as desired.
Tie a piece of twine through the hole at the top of the tag.
To finish the tag, splatter Black Soot Distress Spray Stain onto the tag as desired.
Here are a few closeup photos of the finished tag.
