Hello! Karla back today with a beautiful - and easy- mixed media card using the gorgeous NEW Fanciful Florals collection by Nicole Wright! Nicole's done all the hard and messy work for us by creating a fantastic Paper Pack full of mixed media papers that you swear you can reach out and feel the painty goodness on!! Not only that, but on the backside of each paper you have amazing hand-drawn florals - there are soooo many things I can think of to do with these! For today, I'm going to share a card that uses the Fanciful Florals papers, the Fanciful Blossoms Stencil (can you guess how I used it??!) and the Sassy Since Birth Sequins! I absolutely love diecutting the Wild Whisper papers! They are a beautiful smooth texture and have a great weight so they always diecut beautifully. I cut out a piece of the purple/brown mixed media paper and used two rectangular dies to make a frame, and I used the same paper to cut this sweet little butterfly. I used a piece of one of the branding strips to diecut a banner shape and stamped one of the sentiments from the Pam Bray Sensations 4x6 Stamp Set on it.
Now, here's a little trick - did you know you can emboss with stencils?!! Yup, it's so cool and easy! I ran the stencil through with a piece of lighter weight white cardstock, along with an embossing mat and got a really neat impression of Nicole's Fanciful Blooms Stencil! This made a lovely background for the frame. I then fussy cut out florals from the back of the brown mixed media paper and used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to watercolour them to coordinate with colours in the papers. I glued them onto my frame, which has a layer of fun foam underneath for a little added dimension and added pretty sequins from the Sassy Since Birth collection.
