Hi there, Jenn here, and today I have a cute Traveler's Notebook insert layout to celebrate my niece's third birthday. As soon as I saw the 12x12 banner paper from Forever and Always, I knew it was perfect for a birthday layout, so that's where I started. I cut a large rectangle that spans across both sides of the notebook for my background. I picked the gorgeous 4x3 blue "Love" card from the Forever and Always card pack as the matte for one of my photos, and fussy cut the banners from the 4x3 burlap card for the other photo.
Because this is going to be a pretty full TN insert, I decided to stay away from embellishments and instead used the orange square with the label and hearts from the 12x12 cut-apart sheet, and a 4x6 card from the Focus on You card pack to add some layers, more colour, an fun into the layout.
I stamped teeny, tiny hearts from the Focus on You stamp set all around the layout in matching colours. I used the ghost stamping technique with some black ink to make sure that my heart outlines weren't too dark compared the the grey outlines of the banners. You simply stamp once on a scrap of paper and then stamp the second time on your layout. The second impression is a lot lighter than the first.
I finished the layout with my title, 'Harper is 3', using some Simple Stories, and Stampin' Up alphas, and 'Happy Birthday' on the other side with some old tile letter stickers. I added a few splatters of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold (gulp, anyone else hoarding their bottle now that it's been discontinued?). I think this is such a cute and fun layout, and the colours are a perfect match to my niece's personality :)
