Have A Haunted Halloween by Jenn

Hello, Jenn here, wishing you a very Happy Halloween for this coming Saturday :)  We love Halloween in my house and I love scrapbooking Halloween so I knew I had to pull out the last of my Halloween Night collection from Wild Whisper to create my layout for this week.

I'm following along with Christy's 30 Days of Sketches series for the month of October so I used today's sketch to help inspire my layout.  I had one full piece of 12x12 paper left so I cut that in half along the diagonal, and then cut it again in half to create two triangles.  I will use both sides of the paper so that I have two different patterns for my background.  I also had enough of the tombstone paper to be able to cut a third triangle from that.  I used a piece of purple Halloween paper from my stash to adhere my trangles together and complete the fourth triangle in background design.

I placed my photo right in the center of the background where all of the pattern papers meet.  For a matte around my photo I used some sparkly orange washi tape.  Because my photo is pretty dark, I thought this washi tape would brighten it up and a little fun glitter.  I had three flair and the SpeigelMom Scraps sequins from the Halloween Night collection as well, and I really wanted to get them used, so I decided to add them to the top triangle which was just the purple background paper.  I pulled some random pieces of chipboard from my stash to add to the top triangle along with my flair.  I also used some of the chipboard for my title, with some purple foil alphas, and for my little journaling spot.  I finished it off with a scattering of sequins, and a splatter for orange Heidi Swapp Color Shine.

I love the whimsy of this layout.  The Halloween Night collection adds the perfect level of spooky to the fun chipboard.  It perfectly captures what is happening in my photo, showing one of our favourite neighbourhood houses that always has a little haunted house on their front porch.  They always manage to find the perfect balance between fun and fright and my kids love to visit them every year.

If you would like to see how this layout came together, please stop by my Youtube channel for the process video.  And be sure to checkout all of the new collections available right now in the Wild Whisper shop!  Remember to use my discount code, DTJENN for 10% off of your purchase :)  Thanks so much for popping in, and until next time, Happy Halloween and Happy Scrapping :)
