We are excited for Tori Bissell to be sharing another of her wonderful creations today! She has a layout process video and, as usual, the message is very heartfelt and thoughtful. From here we will let Tori take it away!
Hi everyone, Tori here today with a scrapbooking process video. Lately, I’ve had this desire to scrapbook old family photos and I feel like the No Place Like Home collection is perfect for this project.
When I pulled out this photo I was immediately reminded of this incredible journaling card, “home is wherever I am with you” and it seemed like a perfect fit. When I was younger, we moved A LOT. My parents were international workers working with refugees in England, Austria, and then in Toronto. We changed houses, schools and communities a lot so ‘home’ was always changing. But the one constant – my incredible family; my fantastic parents and siblings.
So I grabbed some of my favorite papers from the No Place like Home collection and Focus On You collection. I layered these papers with a few of the journaling cards and it worked perfectly.
I kept the embellishments really simple – which worked well for this layout. I fussy cut a few flowers from the Focus on You floral paper, topped it off with some freckled fawn enamel dots, and Crate Paper chipboard.
To be honest, I struggled a little bit with deciding where to do the journaling as I didn’t want it to take away from the design of they layout. I finally landed on adding it around the edges of the page. I actually love the way it looks as it’s simple, clean, and doesn’t take away from the design.
Hope you enjoyed today’s page and that it inspires you to keep it simple and pretty.
xoxo, Tori
