Hello, Jenn here, Happy November :) For my first layout this month I really wanted to play with the Child at Heart collection! It's such a fun collection, and I absolutely adore the colour palette.
To create my Traveler's Notebook insert layout, I cut the green arrow paper down to fit both sides of my insert, and adhered them onto the pages. I am using two 1 1/2 x 3 inch photos, so the back of the scraps left from cutting the arrow paper made the perfect matte. I love the triangle pattern and all the colours it brings into the layout. I also used some silver foil paper from my stash as a matte to add a touch of contrast between the pictures and the pattered paper. I found a circle die cut from the ephemera pack and cut it in half to tuck into the layers beside each photo, which gave me to perfect spot for some journalling.
Since my photos are of each of my boys sitting on a mini motorcycle, I thought the die cut that says I Do My Own Stunts from the ephemera pack would make a great title. I placed it under the picture on the left page. To balance it out, I added the Treasure the Moment die cut to the top of the picture on the right hand page (which also worked out great, because both boys promptly asked for their own mini motorcycle, to which I replied, "uhhh, noooo" so I hope they treasured that moment, lol).
There was a little gap on the left hand page between the green arrow paper and the crease of the insert, so I added some silver and white washi tape, and then put two arrows from the ephemera pack pointing down and up just to make the washi fit in a little better. I finished the layout by sketching a border around the entire thing with a black Micron pen to match the journalling die cut. Lastly, I picked out some of the flat star, green, and orange sequins from the exclusive SpiegelMom Scraps matching sequins mix to scatter around the layout.
This was a really quick and easy layout but it was so much fun to create and all the bright colours and fun patterns really make it stand out.
