Hello, Jenn here!!! I have this really fun hiking layout to share with you today :) I participated in Pear Tree Cutfiles First Birthday Celebration hop and chose her great hiking themed cutfile that says "Just Go" to create my layout. Obviously, nothing pairs better with a hiking theme than the amazing Adventure collection from Wild Whisper.
I started by working on the cutfile. I used watercolours to paint the cutfile. Brown and grey for the boots, shades of grey for the word "Just", shades of green for the word "Go" and red for the heart. Once it was dry I used scraps from the Adventure journal card pack to back the "G", a Starbucks cup sleep to back the boots, and placed a picture inside the "O". My last touch on the cutfile was to add some embroidery floss as the laces of the boots!!! I absolutely love how this cutfile turned out and I think my boots are so cute!!!
To create my background I ripped different shades of grey cardstock into stripes that I used to create the look of mountains at the top of my layout. I then grabbed all the scraps of green papers and journal cards that I could find from the Adventure collection, and others, to rip into strips and layer in the bottom 1/3 of my layout to create the look of the forest or ground. I placed my cutfile down where the greys and greens meet, and then popped three extra pictures into the layers of my mountains. I back these pictures with some black cardstock to help them stand out from the background.
To embellish, I fussy cut the words "I Believe it is time for another Adventure" from one of the journalling cards and placed them along the mountains leading down to the cutfile. I tucked a few little diecuts from the Adventure collection ephemera pack around each of the pictures and the cutfile. It worked out perfectly that I had a green bear to tuck in with my green layers and a grey bear to tuck into my mountain layers!!! And I finished with a scattering of sequins from SpeigelMom Scraps.
