Katelyn Grosart is back with another super detailed photo tutorial for this beautiful traveller's notebook spread! Enjoy the tutorial, Katelyn will take it from here!
Hey Wild Whisper Fans! Katelyn here and I’m back today sharing more inspiration with you featuring the More Adventures collection. For my project today, I used the More Adventures – Traveler's Notebook Insert to create my Explore two page spread. These traveller's notebook inserts are perfect to take on a trip for documenting all the things that happened. You’ll want to make sure to go grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I take you through how to recreate my Explore 2 page spread at home.
To start, place the X stencil in the bottom right hand side of the page in the notebook. Dab Emboss It Ink overtop of the sections of the stencil you'd like. Remove the stencil. Sprinkle Deep Sea Baked Texture Embossing Powder over top of the entire surface of the X's. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Repeat the previous steps, but place the stencil in the top left hand side of the page in the notebook.
Next, you'll want to grab one of the arrow stamps as well as the triangle border from the More Adventures Stamp Set. Randomly stamp the triangle border and arrow on the two pages in your notebook where you desire. Take a paint brush and Emboss It Ink and lightly place in random spots on the notebook pages. Sprinkle Salted Navy Embossing Powder over top of the spots. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.
From the More Adventures card pack, take out the following cards: the one covered in bears, the leaves on one side, pink with multi coloured arrows, yellow card with triangles, green card with arrows, wood card and the best view card. Cut the leaves card to 1” x 3 1/4”. Cut the green card with arrows to 1” x 3”. Cut the bear card to 3/4” x 3 1/2”. From the left hand side of the pink with multi coloured arrows card, cut two pieces that measures 1 1/4” x 3” & 1” x 3 1/2”. Create a banner out of the 1” x 3 1/2” piece. Distress the edges of the pieces. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the explore word and stamp in the bottom left hand side of the banner. Ink the edges of the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
With the More Adventures card pack still out, fussy cut the grey frame and four signs from the 4”x6” card. Cut the leaf card to 1” x 3 1/2”. Cut the Beautiful World card to 1 3/4” x 4”. From the multi coloured arrow card, cut a strip that measures 3/4” x 3 1/2”. Once the strip has been cut, create a banner. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the arrow stamp and stamp onto the banner. You'll need to repeat the previous step two more times. Distress the edges of the cards. Ink the edges of all the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the More Adventures Paper pack, take out the patterned paper that has the leaves on the back of it. Fussy cut eight leaves from the paper. Ink the edges of the leaves using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose four borders from the bottom of the patterned papers. Cut one border to 3 1/2”, cut two borders to 3 3/4” and cut one border to 4”. Ink the edges of the borders using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the wolf patterned paper, fussy cut one wolf out. Ink the edges of the wolf using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Take out one of the More Adventures – Arrow Wood Veneers from the package as well as one of the More Adventures – Triangle Wood Veneers from the package. Take out one of the More Adventures – Wolf Wood Veneers out of the package. Apply Emboss It Ink to the entire surface of the wolf. Sprinkle Hammered Metal Embossing Powder over the entire surface of the wolf. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.
Take out a variety of sequins from the Worlds Best package for both pages.
