Salty but Sweet Notecard by Kately

Hey Wild Whisper Fans! Katelyn Grosart here and I’m excited to be  sharing with you today a project using the Wild Whimsy Collection. For my project today, I used a variety of the papers and the cards from the Wild Whimsy Collection as well as Sequins from the Rooted Love Collection, to create my Salt but Sweet Notecard. You’ll want to make sure to go grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I walk you through how to recreate my Salty but Sweet Notecard at home.

To start, fussy cut five of the black and white flowers from the flower paper. Ink the edges of the flowers using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam. From the 3x4 & 4x4 patterned paper piece, cut the Salty but Sweet sentiment to 2 7/8” x 3 1/2” and a 4” x 4” square that's cut down to 3 7/8” x 3 7/8”. From the cards, fussy cut the mermaid and octopus tentacle. Cut the shell card to 1” x 2 1/2” and cut the pink dot card to 1/2” x 2 3/4”. Ink the edges of the patterned paper pieces as well as the fussy cut images using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.Choose two strips from the bottom of the patterned papers. Cut one border to 4 1/4” and cut the other border to 4”. Ink the edges of the borders using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam. From the blue word patterned paper, cut a piece that measures 4” x 4”. Ink the edges of the borders using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam. From the ocean patterned paper, cut a piece from the water side that measures 4 1/4” x 4 1/4” and cut a piece from the flower side that measures 4 1/2” x 4 1/2”. Ink the edges of each patterned paper using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.Adhere the ocean patterned paper to the flower patterned paper. Adhere the blue word patterned paper to the ocean patterned paper. Adhere the blue starburst patterned paper to the blue word patterned paper. Adhere the 4 1/4” border 5/8” from the left of the blue flower patterned paper. Adhere the 4” border to the right and slightly over top of the 4” border. Adhere the shell patterned paper piece 5/8” from the top and 5/8” from the right of the flower patterned paper. Adhere the pink dot patterned paper piece 5/8” from the top and 1 1/8” from the right of the flower patterned paper. Foam square the Salty but Sweet card 1/2” from the left and 1” from the top of the flower patterned paper. Adhere the octopus tentacle around the right hand side of the Salty but Sweet card.In the bottom right hand corner of the Salty but Sweet card, adhere the mermaid and a medium sized flower. In the top left hand corner of the Salty but Sweet card, adhere a large flower and two small flowers. To add some extra interest to the center of the flowers, add a blue sequin from the Rooted Love Collection to each center. To finish the card off, adhere the cardfront to a cardbase that measures 4 1/2” x 9” and score at 4 1/2”.Here are a few closeups of the finished Salty but Sweet Notecard.
