I really love the super bright and fun look of the Sassy Since Birth collection but I started out a little intimidated by it because of those busy bold patterns. It's so funny how a collection you love can also intimidate you! Well....I finally jumped in for this layout and I just adore how it turned out! Read on for a few of my top tips on working with a bold, busy collection.
I absolutely adore using a text paper for the background so this purple one was just perfect! In order to make sure that my photo didn't get lost, I used an oversized mat with a torn bottom edge. This allowed the photo element to really stand out and gave me the perfect place to start building some clusters.
The little circular die cuts that looks sort of like fireworks were perfect for creating the foundations of my embellishment clusters. I kept my clusters overlapping my photo block element as another way to ensure that the photo didn't get lost. They were also the perfect size for adding a few embellishments around. I also used the Sassy Since Birth stamp set to create a few little details in each of my embellishment clusters and to bring in the bright pink color.
Because of that bold background paper, I also kept my embellishments fairly simple. Just adding a few sequins and acrylic hearts to each cluster kept everything looking clean and organized. I added just a pop of additional texture with a film strip cut file and some black text stamping. Easy peasy!

1. Try using an oversized photo mat to create a home for your photo that really helps it stand out against that background.
2. I like keeping my embellishment clusters close to and overlapping my photo in this situation to make sure that the photo takes center stage.
3. Add a little bright pop of stamping under the edges of your photo to draw even more attention in that direction. You can also add a piece of film strip or something similar like I did.
4. I also prefer keeping my embellishments fairly simple when I am using a bold, bright collection.
