Sensations Slimline Card and Watercoloring Techniques Video by Karla

Hello friends! Karla back today with a lovely spring card and colouring video using the awesome New Pam Bray Sensations Collection from Wild Whisper! We have gotten some warmer weather this week and the snow is finally gone - yay! So I'm definitely in the mood for spring colours and flowers!! I created a slimline card by cutting my paper at 7x8.5" and folding it in half to be 3.5x8.5".

I pulled out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and chose colours that matched with the gorgeous Sensations Paper Pack to create a bright and beautiful focal floral image and then coloured coordinating butterflies and a dragonfly. I even added some of the New Bronzed Anther Embossing Powder to give the flower centers extra texture!

Check out a full tutorial on how to use Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers to watercolour this gorgeous stamp set in the video below! You'll even find out what ink and paper I use to watercolour with these fun markers!

Now, here's a look at the completed slimline card with all these lovely images and Pam's wonderful paper from the Sensations Paper Pack. You can almost feel the textures on this amazing handpainted paper! I was very excited to see how well the Sassy Since Birth Sequins matched and glued them to various areas for a few more pops of colour.

I stamped one of the awesome sentiments from the Sensations Stamp Set with Ranger Archival Ink in Picked Raspberry and diecut it with a scalloped circle die. I love how the scallops in the circle match the scalloped edge I created with an edge puncher in my stash! I added a hand-drawn stitched line to the right side as well.

I added one more sentiment inside the card using Mermaid Lagoon Archival Ink, and my card is ready to send out. I think this would be a beautiful card to give to a friend, for a birthday, or for a special Mothers' Day card. It fits inside a regular #10 envelope and doesn't require any extra postage.

If you haven't seen all the beautiful pieces in Pam's collection you can check out the BONUS video below!

Hi Nicole – Sorry just seeing this now! I used Bristol Smooth Cardstock as I find the colours blend easier, but watercolour is fine to use too. Since it is a water medium you want to use one of those :)

What kind of paper did you use? Does it have to be watercolor to use the zig pens with water?
