Hello friends! Karla back today with a mixed media layout using some fun supplies from the Wild Whisper Shop! As well, we have an exciting New Monthly Challenge for you!! A couple weeks ago I was playing around with Nicole Wright's Fanciful Blossoms Stencil and some Cosmic Expressions Shimmer Shakers powders. I created a background on an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of white cardstock by laying the stencil on top of the paper, sprinkling the powders over top, and then spraying with water. I then pressed a second piece of cardstock over top to get a negative impression (but that's for another day!). I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do with it at the time, but when I was planning my layout for today's post I knew that would make the perfect addition to my page to document my youngest daughter's stay-home haircut!
I cut out a zigzag edge using my Cricut Maker and then used the Nature's Bliss and No Place Like Home papers to diecut my titles with a Cricut cutfile. I added stitiching with my sewing machine for some fun texture.
I added the house paper from the No Place Like Home paper pack and used various ephemera (listed below) to embellish my page. I grabbed some sequins from my stash for pops of colour. You can find lots of beautiful sequins in the Wild Whisper Shop!
I used the Circlet Stencil with some Honeydew Matt Chalk Polish for a soft effect on the background. I find circle elements always add such a cool effect, and they repeated with the sequins and ephemera circle!
