Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! Last month was the launch of Lake Life and by far it is one of my favourite collections. I was away last weekend on Galiano Island and snapped a beautiful sunset picture on our way home. So for todays project, I've used a variety of the papers from the Lake Life Collection, Lake Life Card Pack, Lake Life Ephemera and the Flair buttons to create my Summer Days Scrapbook Layout. You'll want to grab a glass of your favourite summertime beverage as I will walk you through how to recreate my piece at home.
To start, cut the barcode strip off the bottom of the mountain paper. Distress the edges of the paper. Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the branch paper, cut a piece that measures 2 1/2" x 5 1/2". Distress the edges of the paper. Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the canoe paper, cut one piece that measures 5 1/4" x 3 3/4". Cut a second piece from the backside of the paper that measures 3 3/4" x 5 1/2". Distress the edges of both pieces. Ink the edges of both pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose three 3" x 4" cards and one 4" x 6" card from the Lake Life Card Pack. Distress the edges of all four cards. Ink the edges of all four cards using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose one of the border strips from the bottom of the patterned papers. Cut the strip down to 7 1/4". Distress the edges of the strip. Ink the edges of the strip using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Lake Life Ephemera pack, take out two arrows, five leaves, three large flower bunches, the circle and square with arrows & symbols and the summer days.
From the Lake Life Card pack, fussy cut the Happy Camper circle out. From the paper with circles on it, fussy cut the kayak circle, the circle with arrows & symbols and the relax & unwind circle. Cut the relax & unwind circle in half, use the bottom half. Ink the edges of the circles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose one flair button.
From the floral paper, fussy cut eight bunch flowers, one leaf, four blue flowers and eight yellow flowers.
Grab the circle with the happy camper. Layer and adhere the three large flower bunches, two small flower bunches, two single yellow flowers, two single blue flowers and the one leaf to the circle. Foam square the yellow arrow & symbols circle to the middle of the layered flowers. Adhere the summer days to the middle of the yellow arrow & symbols circle. Foam square an arrow to the bottom portion of the flowers. Foam square the summer days circle 1" from the left and 7/8" from the bottom of the mountain paper.
Adhere the square arrow & symbols square 3/4" from the right and 1 7/8" from the top of the mountain paper. Adhere one of the 3" x 4" cards 2 3/4" from the top and 3 1/2" from the left of the mountain paper.
Adhere the branch paper 2 1/2" from the right and 2" from the top of the mountain paper. Adhere a second 3" x 4" card 4" from the left and 4 1/2" from the bottom of the mountain paper. Adhere the fish patterned paper 3/8" from the right and 3 7/8" from the top of the mountain paper.
Adhere the last 3" x 4" card 2 1/4" from the top and 1 7/8" from the right of the mountain paper. Adhere the photo to the canoe paper. Adhere the canoe paper to the 4" x 6" card. Foam square the 4" x 6" card 1 3/8" from the right and 2 5/8" from the top of the mountain paper.
Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the border strip slightly underneath the photo.
In the bottom right hand corner of the photo adhere the circle with arrows & symbols. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere two small flower bunches, two small yellow flowers, two leaves, one blue flower to the circle. Adhere the arrow to the left of the flower. Adhere the relax and unwind circle underneath the border strip.
In the top left hand corner of the photo adhere the circle with the kayak and the flair button. To finish your layout, use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the rest of the flowers as desired in the corner.
Here are a few closeup photos of the finish layout.
