Hello blog readers! We are back at blogging today and we are so thrilled to have Nathalie DeSousa sharing the first project using the new stamp sets for April! She did such an incredible job combing three of the sets on her Traveller's Notebook layouts (two of the three new releases from this month and the Focus on You set from January). From here we will let Nathalie take over - don't forget to check out her awesome process video below!
Hello everyone! I have kept a journal for as long as I can remember. Nowadays, my favorite journal format is my Traveler's Notebook, and just can't go a day without adding my daily entry on it. This time around, I chose to work with products from Wild Whisper for a couple of my entries. The stamps, wood veneers, and papers are just perfect for this format.
My first spread is all about the beautiful buds and flowers that are slowly showing up around our neighbourhood. For this, some lightweight watercolour paper was trimmed into two 4.25" x 8.25" rectangles.
Using the branch stamp design in the Rooted Love stamp set, and archival ink, a few branches were added to the pages. A large cluster was created on one of the corners of the spread. A smaller cluster was then added to the opposite side of the spread (diagonally). Another small cluster was added to the bottom of the page, at the junction of the two rectangles. To create the buds of the trees, the smallest flowers in the No Place Like Home and Focus on You stamp sets were used. The small little branch with budding ends stamp from the Focus on You stamp set was also added to some of the branch's tips. To give some colour to the flowers I used magenta ink and a water brush to add light touches inside some of the flowers and some splatters around the branches too. The Alpha stamp set from Crate Paper's Oasis collection was used to form the word "SPRING" on the page, While the watercolour dried, I backed the picture with one of the wood grain cards from the Rooted Love collection, and attached it to the opposite page (to the Spring stamped one). I cut the little banner from one of the cards from the same collection , and stamped the date on it. It was glued to the bottom of the picture, and a small cork heart from the shop to complete the page.To complete the spread, I picked the card that has the diamond shapes as a border (from the Rooted Love Card set) ,and used it back the picture, making sure that the shapes followed the same direction that the border created on the opposite side. I then pulled the "Adventure" wood veneer and glued it below the picture. A small cork heart was then added to the page. To finish this page, I used the ink splatter stamp on this page, along with the chevron series (also from the Rooted Love stamp set) below the wood veneer.
I really hope that serves as inspiration as how versatile the Wild Whisper products are. The stamps can easily be used in many crafting projects, especially in TN journals. As always I am a comment away if you have any questions on this came together
