Hey Friends!
I am super excited to be back with you guys today creating with an older collection mixed with a new one. I am playing with the Pam Bray Carefree collection combined with the stamps and ephemera from Feel the Beat. This is one of my favorite memories of my little dude because he so so so badly wanted a drum set and his grandma finally got him one for this birthday and he was so excited that he just kept hugging the box!
I started with white cardstock and stamped a bunch of musical notes in multiple colors around the outside edge. I also added some drumsticks and the "feel the beat" phrase. I chose ink colors based upon the two patterned papers that I knew that I wanted to use on this layout. Then, I took some ink and added a little bit of distressed coloring. The black piece of cardstock then forms the inner foundation of the layout and gives me a place to put my layers and photos in the middle without having the edge of the stamping show.
After that, I tore two different patterned papers from the Carefree collection which matches the colors and theme of my photo perfected. The grid paper totally reminded of guitar strings too which was a big bonus! I then went ahead and used a bunch of the Feet the Beat ephemera pack to create three different embellishment clusters. I chose the icons that had music notes and related to the drum set in the picture.
I added my title directly on my photo and that basically completed the look. This was a really easy layout to create and I just love how a stamped border around the outside really helps make a layout pop. Adding the black cardstock in the middle really draws your eye to that stamped detailing as well.
I hope that you enjoyed seeing my take on combining new and older Wild Whisper collections along with creating a stamped border around the outside edge of my page. I would love to see you try a similar stamping technique on a layout!
xoxo,
Khristina
