Quick Coloring Technique with Distress Crayons by Nadine
Hello Creative Friends! Today I’m showing you a quick and easy coloring technique using Distress Crayons. If you visited the Creative Scrapbooking Carnival in Calgary a few weeks ago and stopped by the Wild Whisper Designs booth, this was one of the cards that I was demonstrating. What I love about this quick coloring technique how easy it is to add color to the Wild Whisper Designs paper. The Wild Whisper patterned paper is so smooth, it works incredibly well for blending Distress Crayons. This technique is meant to be used on patterned paper or in places where you want...
Travel Photo Card by Nadine
Hello Creative Friends! Today on the blog I am sharing a travel photo card using the Wild Whisper Designs Road Trip Collection. I love adding photos to my projects, but do not always think to use my photos on cards. This is a great way to combine your photos, paper, and ephemera to give the card a more mixed media feel. It is also a great way to personalize your cards by using your own photos or use photos that are meaningful to the person that you are giving the card to. When creating this card, I originally had Father’s...
En Pointe by Jenn
Hello, Jenn here! I have a fun new layout to share with you using the Home is Where the Wifi Is collection from Jenn Aguilar. As a dance Mom, anytime I hear the words 'on point' I automatcally think 'en pointe'. I thought the 'on point' references in Jenn's collection would make a fun and unique ballet layout using non-conventional colours and motifs for a dance. I really love how everything came together to show my daughter getting some new Pointe shoes!!! I started by fussy cutting all of the elements I wanted to use from the papers in the...
“Nature Does Not Hurry” Tag by Nadine
Hello Wild Whisper Fans! This week on the blog I am sharing an easy tag project using the Play in the Dirt Collection. I love this collection, especially the beautiful vibrant colors and the playful quotes. This quote from the Play in the Dirt ephemera pack really spoke to me this week. “Nature does not hurry and yet everything is accomplished.” To create this project, start by cutting the lime green paper down to the size of the tag (3 1/8” by 6 ¼”) and adhering it to the tag. Trim the corners and re-punch the hole at the top...
Today is Your Day Art Journal Page by Nadine
Hello my creative friends! This week I wanted to share with you my love for stencils and acrylic paint. What better way to explore stencils than using the Get Toasted stencil by Nicole Wright! What I love the most about this stencil is the versatility of the designs. This stencil has a combination of quotes, arrows, stars as well as mountain imagery. I love how stencils can be used in so many ways on a variety of projects. They can be the central focus or a background layer. You can use them with paint, inks, pens and a variety of...
