Hello, Jenn here! How are you all doing? I've been spending the month of June working on my travel albums and dreaming of all the adventures I'd like to have this summer :) As you know Wild Whisper makes the most amazing travel collections, so I pulled them all out to create this layout about our whale watching adventure in Bay Bulls, Newfoundland.
I started by going through all of the collections to pick a colour scheme. I pulled out some fun quotes from the new Adventure collection ephemera, and then picked my papers based on those pieces. My pictures are very cool in tone with dark blue water and dark rocks so I decided to pick the vibrant stripes and dots of the Out and About collection to help brighten up the layout. I chose a paper from Strong and Free for my background. Because I am using three photos, decided to keep the layout design very simple. I layered a larger piece of the striped paper in the center of the layout with a thinner piece of the dot paper running vertically from top to bottom on the left of the page. I crinkled up the edges of the striped paper to add a little extra detail, then added my three photos on top.
I chose my title from one of the quotes I pulled out of the Adventure ephemera pack and placed it beside my top photo. I used that as the foundation for one of my embellishment clusters. I added another cluster to the bottom of the photos, and a third, smaller cluster, to the left hand side. Each cluster has a piece of ephemera (from Adventure and one from Where to Next?) , a label (from Sassy Since Birth) , and a few puffy stickers and an enamel sticker from Evalicious, and exclusive Halloween Night SpiegelMom Scraps sequins. I also gave each cluster a unique element. The title cluster has a wood veneer anchor, the bottom cluster has a little chipboard tag that says Adventure, and the left side cluster has a piece of flair from Roadtrip. Since the layout design is pretty simple, I wanted to make sure to have lots of fun little details in each embellishment cluster.
To finish the layout I used the Out and About stamp set to stamp the compass rose in the top embellishment cluster and then circles all around the outside of the layout to create a border. I also splattered some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in mint around the layout. I love that I was able to combine a total of 7 different collections into this one layout: Out and About, Strong and Free, Road Trip, Where to Next, Adventure, Halloween Night, and Sassy Since Birth.
