Alexandria with a Home Sweet Home Layout

Alexandria with a Home Sweet Home Layout

Alexandria is back up today showing her process to make an adorable layout using the No Place Like Home collection. Here she is!

To start I pulled out my very messy tray of supplies. From the tray I pull out a few pieces I think I might want to use. I have an idea in my head, but I'm not entirely sure how it's going to work.

I cut some triangles from the pattern papers and a circle from one of the journal cards. I made a triangle template from a scrap of white paper.

I pick a photo and fussy cut some houses from one of the pattern papers. I stamp out "home sweet home" and fussy cut it. And of course smudge the ink a little bit, but it's fine.

I put everything together on a piece of white cardstock from my stash. I aligned the triangles long the middle in an intentionally mis-aligned row. I decided to mount it on the fur paper because it tied into the cat picture and I love how it tied everything together in the end. I arranged the other pieces around the page and scattered some confetti hearts. To get them a little more random I simply sprinkled a bunch in the general area I wanted them, removed the ones that didn't follow the line I wanted to create, and added a few where necessary and used a bit of glue to stick them down. I tried a glue pen this time (previously used glue dots) and it seems to be holding well. I stapled the large cork hearts down, added the date and a bit of journaling.
