Hello and happy Friday! Today we are super excited to share the first design team project using the brand new Out & About collection! Make sure you check out all the fun products for this one. We even have a new product - Traveller's Notebook Inserts! Don't miss these either as quantities are limited. From here we will let Alexandria Goodman explain her process of creating this stunning and simple travel layout.
To kick off this project I pulled out all of my supplies from the Out & About collection and a couple of photos from a travel album I'm making for my sister from her school trip to Ireland a couple years ago. I've had a lot on my plate and this has been pushed to the back burner, but this travel collection is the perfect inspiration to get started.
It took me a ridiculously long time to settle on this neutral paper. I was hesitant to use it because I LOVE the globes on the other side, but I might just pick up an extra paper pack from the Wild Whisper shop. To bring in the globes I love so much, I selected a 4x6 card with the watercolour globe on it.
I pulled out some thickers with maps printed on them to make my title. They're not from this collection, but they went nicely.
And done. I tucked the 4x6 card behind the photos and stitched down the letter stickers because they don't stick well and I didn't want them to fall off.
I added bits of watercolour in a few places to match the globe I love so much.
I was about to photograph the finished layout and realized I forgot to trim the branding strip off the bottom of the paper, but I loved how it looked, so I trimmed the top edge to keep it 12x12 and left the branding strip along the bottom.
I stamped the date next to the title and called it done. I love how clean and simple it came out.
