Hello my scrappy Wild Whisper Family, Jenn here! Happy Valentine's Day to you all! I'm here today to share my latest layout with you, using some vintage Wild Whisper products, inspired by this month's How To Kill a Kit with Style theme which is VINTAGE.
In my last Wild Whisper LIVE I went through all of my Wild Whisper stash to look for my oldest pieces in order to build some page kits for my February vintage kit. While looking through my stash I found a picture and piece of paper from the Wild Whimsy collection. I had put this combo together several years ago and then never ended up creating the page so I decided it was time to pull it out and get it done.
Wild Whimsy is one of my favourite Wild Whisper collections and I've used every last bit of it so I went through my little 4x6 Iris container of embellishments for some ephemera to add, and landed on some fun tropical florals from the Floral collection (another personal favourite!). Apart from that, I didn't want to add too much more because I just love this beachy paper and the photo. I think simple is more when you really love the picture and want it to shine.
To create a little movement and interest, I smooshed some white texture paste in the area where the ocean met the sand. I used a circular motion with my spatula to give the texture paste the impression of waves. I also added some splatters of mint, seafoam, and blue spray mists and let the colours mix and run along the grooves of the texture paste. Once it was all dry, I simply stuck down my photo, right in the center of the page, and added my flowers to either side. My finishing touches were some flip flops from an old sticker pack I had, the title Beach Babes, and a scattering of Wild Whisper sequins among the mist splatters.
This layout came together so quick and easy and will be a great addition to my 2017 Cross-Country Trip album.
