Hello crafty people! It's Katelyn here with a new process video to share with you all. I went super mixed media-y on this layout and truly enjoyed getting some of these items used.
I started by picking out some mixed media items that fit the color scheme of the papers from the Palm Paradise collection. I used some bright pink paint from Shimmerz and a yellow paste from Shimmerz. I simple smeared the pink paint mixed with water across my gessoed background. Once the pink was dry, I used an Echo Park leaf stencil with the yellow paste.
While that dried, I went on to matting my photos. I used the light pink with brush script pattern to mat my left photo and the fruity pattern to mat my right photo. I kept the beautiful a bright blue branding strip piece to use on the bottom of my layout. To add some more organic shapes, I fussy cut out some of the beautiful flowers from the collection. I tucked those in the gaps of the photos and clusters.
The title on my layout was one of my favorite parts! I used the coming to online stores soon stamp set from Wild Whisper! These brush letter stamps are definitely going to be the investment you need to take your layouts to the next level. I stamped them on top of my mixed media elements using Versafine onyx black ink. I found these to give a great black impression and I used a black marker from my stash to touch up any splotchy patches. I finished this colorful layout off with some 2 Cool 4 U Sequins!
