Khristinag Sorge is back today with another creative layout! We love how she built her own focal piece for this one. Check out her process video below and Khristina will take it from here.
Do you ever just love patterned paper so much that you want to include all of the things? Do you ever create your own design elements from hand? Today, I just couldn’t choose between all of the gorgeous papers in the Classic Woodgrains pack so I decided to include pieces of many of them. I wanted to scrapbook this adorable picture of my two boys and an outdoorsy layout was just what I wanted.
I knew that I wanted all of those gorgeous papers to show up so I decided to free-hand cut a whole bunch of leaves and create my own tree branch and leaves. I simply grabbed a pencil and drew a tree branch outline on a piece of scrap patterned paper from the Rooted Love collection. I put that on a punch of dimensional adhesive to give it some height and depth and then added all of my patterned paper leaves. Are they perfect? Nope! Am I an amazing artist at drawing freehand? Nope! Did I get the look that I wanted? Absolutely!
I finished off the layout by adding some patterned paper strips in a zig zag pattern along the bottom of the layout and then placed my photo and two of the pocket cards from the More Adventures pack along that border element. Adding a couple of puffy sticker trees and a few enamel dots finished off the look that I was going for and I just love the handmade feel of it all.
This week, I challenge you to create your own handmade element for one of your projects! Make sure to tag me because I would love to see what you make!
