Happy Monday! We are a little late posting Cathy's beautiful project, but it is gorgeous! We love the altered canvas she created!
It's Cathy here again! Time for another project using the gorgeous Strong & Free Collection. This time a made a 10X10 canvas that can be kept up all year around. I really love the quote from Margaret Atwood and made it the center point of the canvas. It was a toss up though because I soo love the Double Double cup, and I am a coffee addict!
I painted the Maple Leaf Wood Veneers with Distress Paint and put them aside to dry. I then used gel medium and two stencils to create a textured background. After the medium was dry ( I don't like the waiting part lol) I sponged on some colour using the Distress Oxides in Fired Brick and Vintage Photo. Also I edge everything in regular Vintage Photo. I fussy cut out my images from the card pack, and used the stamp set to create my little fox. I wrapped some black hemp twine I had in my stash around my canvass and glued the wood veneers onto it.
I know I'm repeating myself, but I just love this collection. I love all the details about Canada, and the sayings and phrases taken from our national anthem. And it really can be used for so many things!
