Happy Saturday all! Today we have Cathy Potosky back and she is sharing the first project using the brand new No Place Like Home collection! We will let her take it from here-
Here is my first project with the No Place Like Home collection! I love it! I love it so much that I already have 2 more projects planned. I kept this one super quick and simple for a few reasons- I started back to work full time (no more crafting whenever I want) and I'm a day behind from being sick as heck. (We sure hope Cathy feels better ASAP!)
For this project I re purposed a couple of decor blocks that I found on clearance at Michaels. I liked the block and thought I'm sure I'll use it LOL And I finally did!!
I quickly gesso'd over the dream design, but you can skip that step since the paper goes pretty much to the edge. I then took my sheet of paper and did all my cutting, including the strips for all four sides. I embossed the adorable little wooden hearts with Champagne embossing powder from the shop.
I attached all my paper with super sticky double sided tape, but you can use whatever adhesive you prefer. I attached my embossed hearts with a quick dab of Glossy Accents.
A couple of close ups to show the adorable hearts (I will be ordering more of these, they are a perfect embellishment) and to show the sides and top of the project. I did use pop dots for the word cards, just for a bit of dimension, but again, you can use whatever works for you. Also, my blocks are not attached to each other, but that is another option. Mine will be on my mantle, or they may actually be a gift.
I like that this is a quick project and it really would be a great little housewarming gift. You could also mix the collections to create something like this.
Thanks for stopping by Wild Whisper and don't forget to get the Home Sweet Home collection! I can't wait to get home from work, have the weekend off and play with it some more!! After I sleep and get over whatever I caught from being back at work!
