Hello Jenn here with a layout using the new Strength of the Season. This is such a beautiful and versatile collection, with so many possibilities. I can see this collection being turned into celebration of life album, a graduation album for a highschool student, birthday cards, a mini album documenting a life transition, or even just used for seasonal layouts. I have so many ideas!!!
My daughter is headed into highschool next year and these next few months will be filled with a lot of anxiety, anticipation, worry, and excitement for her. She is also approaching dance competition season, something that always fills her with excitement and energy, so I thought I would write her a little note, to remind her that whenever she feels overwhelmed, to remember that dance has taught her how strong and capable she is to overcome any obstacle that's put in her way :)
I started with the gorgeous 12x12 flower paper as my background. I matted the photo on the snowflake paper and then used the green 4x6 card from the card pack as a layer behind my photo. I also chose the black 4x3 card with a quote on it to add into the layers as well. This is sort of taking the place of a title for me. I created a pocket behind my photo using fun foam so that I could slip in a tag with my letter to Kaelyn on it.
I pulled out the foliage and flower ephemera pieces from the ephemera pack and created two little clusters around the photo. I fussy cut a few extra pieces from the floral 12x12 paper so that I could add a third embellishment cluster up to the top left of the page. I also pulled out a quote from the ephemera pack to add to the third cluster. To add a little interest and texture to the page, I ripped a section from the top of the background paper, backed it with some black cardstock, then tucked the quote into the tear, along with a few pieces of flowers and foliage!
To finish the layout, I added a cute little silver bow to the photo layers, and some silver butterfly stickers to the other clusters, along with some enamel dots and enamel hearts. I used some mists to colour the tags for my journalling, and when they were dry and written on, I used some pretty ribbon to attach them together and slipped them into their little pocket. Lastly, I sprinkled the whole layout with some pink, purple, and orange mists.
I love the way that this layout turned out. The background is so bold and so beautiful so I kept my embellishments simple, and clean to really let the vibrant background colours shine through.
