Hi Tag by Katelyn

Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! For today's project, I've created this mixed media Hi Tag. To create my tag, I've used a variety of Nicole Wright and Wild Whisper stamps, the Circlet Stencil from Nicole Wright and Bronzed Anther Embossing Powder from Pam Bray. Grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my tag at home.
To start, you'll need a tag that measures 2 1/2" x 5". On a Gel Plate, you'll need to put dots of Dina Wakley Media Acrylic Paint in Blush, Eggplant, Turquoise, Magenta and Cheddar. Use a brayer to move the dots around the gel plate so that the gel plate is covered in plate. Place your tag faced down on the gel plate and press it into the paint and then remove the tag. Once the paint on the tag has dried, ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Place the Circlet Stencil on the tag. Using Texture Paste Transparent Matte and a palette knife, out the texture paste through the stencil as desired. Remove the stencil and allow the stenciled areas to dry.
Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Splotch stamp and stamp randomly seven times on the tag. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Stump stamp and stamp randomly on the tag three times. Sprinkle Sensations - Bronzed Anther Embossing Powder over the stamped areas. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.
From the Botanic stamp set, you'll need the single leaf, single flower, flower branch and leaf branch. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the single leaf and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink the single leaf stamp two more times and stamp onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock.  Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the single flower and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink the single flower stamp four more times and stamp onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock.  Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the flower branch and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink the flower branch stamp one more time and stamp onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock.  Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the leaf branch and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink the leaf branch stamp two more times and stamp onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock. Colour all of the stamped images in using your favourite colouring medium. Fussy cut all the stamped images out. Ink the edges of all the fussy cut images using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Brush Letters stamp set, you'll need the letters H & I. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to both letters and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Fussy cut the word out. Ink the edges of the word using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
In the top left side of the tag, adhere one of the flower branches and one of the leaf branches as desired.
In the bottom left side of the tag, adhere one of the flower branches and the remaining leaf branches as desired.
Use foam squares to adhere the three single flowers over top of where the leaf and flower branches meet on the tag. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the three single leaves as desired in amongst the three single flowers.
Adhere the Hi word to the right of the single flower bunch as desired. Foam square the remaining two single flowers as desired on the tag.
To finish the tag, tie a piece of white twine through the hole at the top of the tag.
Here are a few closeup photos of the finished tag.
Here is the finished Hi Tag.
