Hockey Interactive Layout by Jenn

Hello, Jenn here with a brand new layout for you using the new Hockey collection!! I decided to take the kids to see my nephew play in his last hockey tournament of the season. We went by a little early so the kids could swim at the hotel pool and visit, then went to cheer him on at the rink, followed by dinner out to celebrate. It was a great afternoon and the perfect event to document using the new collection. In order to incorporate the entire day into one layout, I thought it would be fun to create an interactive layout. I haven't made an interactive layout in about 10 years so I really enjoyed the process of putting this one together.

I created this layout in conjunction with my Tuesdays in the Attic series where we use The ScrapRoom's Freaky Fast Formula, and the March 21st and 28th sketches from 30 Days of Sketches series 11. To start, I chose my background paper from the paper pack, and then cut the rest of the papers down according to the measurements provided in the Freaky Fast Formulas. I also fussy cut the large hockey net from the 12x12 paper to use as the flap on the right side of my layout. I used a second piece of paper cut down to 12x8 to create the flap on the left side of the layout. This is what creates the interactive component of the layout.

I used the pieces of paper from the March 28th Formula and the March 28th sketch to create the main page of the layout.

To attach the flaps to each side of the layout, I ran washi tape along the left and right edges of the main page, tucked in between the layers to hide the tape. The tape becomes the hinge to hold the flap in place. I secured the tape with some tacky glue to make sure that it was adhered strongly to the paper on both sides. I used two manufacturer strips to cover the tape that showed on each of the flaps.

On the inside of the two flaps, I used the papers from the March 21st Freaky Fast Formula, and the March 21st sketch. I spread the sketch across both sides of the flap. I added some of the 2x2 squares from the cut-apart sheet as embellishement on the flaps, and then will add extra embellishment once I have my photos printed out and ready to be put in place.

On the outside of the left flap, I chose a 4x4 square from the cut-apart sheet and created a little pocket from it to add some tags. I can add pictures and journalling to the tags. I used the Hockey stamp set to embellish the tags a little bit. I also cut one of the hockey sticks from a 12x12 paper to add by the pocket.

On the outside of the hockey net flap I added another cut-apart piece. I stamped the scoreboard from the Scoreboard stamp set and added my nephew's name to it, then fussy cut that out and layered it on the cut-apart piece. I added a Hockey flair to the layers, and then some sequins and splatters of black and gold spray mist.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I'm working on. You can see how I put this layout together and how it works in my process video and be sure to check my channel for updates on how the layout looks with the pictures added.
