Today we have Cathy Potosky with us, a fellow Canadian located in Langley BC, and she is sharing her amazing photo tutorial here on the blog! She has created a stunning layout with many custom embellishments created using our paper and stamp set with the Emerald Creek embossing powders that we carry! We know that you will enjoy her creative work!
Hi everyone! Cathy here with my first post/project for Wild Whisper Designs! I am so honoured to be a part of this amazing team of creatives and to support an amazing Canadian company. The collections are so amazing and so versatile that I just know I'll be using them everywhere.
I created a scrapbook page using the Focus On You collection's beautiful papers, perfect quotes on the pocket cards, and the colours are so pretty. Also for this collection they even have a matching stamp set! The girls behind Wild Whisper have got you covered!
Here is the beginning of my project. I started with all my packages of cards and paper open so I could decide which ones I was gong to use. Toughest decision ever! Order two packs because you are going to want to use both sides of the paper. You can see just off center there the card that started my whole page.
I used my tape runner for adhering my picture to the background paper I wanted and for some of my layering. But I do love dimension, so for most everything else I used pop dots and foam tape
I got the stamps out and started with my banners using the Focus On You stamp. I stamped it in clear embossing ink and used Emerald Creek Frosted Plum embossing powder, it's a great match. I cut my strips first, and centered the image when I stamped it. So easy to do with the clear stamps since you can see exactly where your image will be.
Finished image embossed in Frosted Plum.
Adding my stamped image onto the background paper that matches what is layered behind my picture. (One step I missed a snapshot of was adding a purple layer behind the coral one, just for a touch more colour)
I took the small and large flower stamps, and the centers for them to use next. I stamped the flower image in clear ink and embossed in clear, the centers I stamped in black.
I stamped the image in the center of flower but did not like how it turned out. I stamped onto the purple heart paper and fussy cut it then used foam tape to make the centers.
Now the flowers have nicer centers, don't be afraid to change your mind like I did half way through creating my flowers.
Before I started adding my layers, I used an embossing pen to go over some of the sayings on the paper and embossed them with the Frosted Plum again.
A close up of the flowers I made using the matching stamp set.
One of the sayings I embossed with Frosted Plum. Embossing pens are such a handy tool!
I also used a new to me product from SpiegelMom Scraps, these adorable cork chevrons are available in the Wild Whisper store. I embossed them in Hammered Metal and Champagne, also available in the store.
Thank you for checking out the details of my project and I hope you are inspired by the new Focus On You Collection from Wild Whisper Designs!
