Hello, Jenn here with a layout that I created for both Wild Whisper and Scrapbooking From the Heart. The prompt for Scrapbooking from the Heart this month is appreciation so we all created layouts to tell a story of appreciation. I thought it would be fun to tell the story of how I ran out of ATG adhesive early in the pandemic and couldn't find more. After hearing about my plight Heather and Suzy posted this fun meme using their image from the 6 Feet Apart collection with an added little bit of advise that it is completely OK to hoard adhesive!!! I look back on it as a funny event, but also as a reminder not to forget to appreciate all the little things in life.
I am down to the last few scraps of my 6 Feet Apart papers so I decided on a simple layout design using a big title to help me fill in some space. I created three little areas of embellishment by smooshing some yellow and navy blue watercolours around on my white cardstock background. Then I cut the biggest piece of paper I had into three triangles that fit over top of the watercolours. Triangles are great shape to use if you want to add movement to your layout because your eye naturally wants to follow where the triangle is pointing. I used a scrap from the toilet paper pattern and the repeating words pattern to add some layering to the triangles. I used the meme as my photo and put it on the largest triangle, and added a card from the 6 Feet Apart journal card pack on the other triangle for my journalling.
I created the beginning of a long title with some Basic Gray cardstock alpha stickers, and then finished he title as my journalling on the journalling card. To embellish I fussy cut two small toilet paper rolls from the paper I used in my layers, and a third larger toilet paper roll from the free Covid-19 printables available in the store. Because my photo is all writing which makes it very busy, and I have a busy title and journalling, I decided to keep the rest of the layout very simple. The contrast between the yellow and navy blue watercolours gives the layout a bright pop of colour and really draws your eye to the photo and the journalling. I just love how it turned out.
This was a really fun layout to create, especially when I took the time to explore a deeper meaning behind a funny story.
