Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! Have you seen the amazing new collections?! I'm loving creating with all of the new collections and today I'm sharing with you my Keep Your Face to the Sunshine Altered Door Handle Plate. To create my project, you'll need the Strength of the Season Collection. Grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my altered door handle plate at home.
To start, you'll need a door handle plate that measures 2 1/2" x 7".
From the Strength of the Season Paper Pack, you'll need the leaf paper. Fussy cut a small yellow leaf and a large teal three leaf bunch. Ink the edges of the leaves using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Bee paper out of the Strength of the Season Paper Pack, fussy cut a small bee. Ink the edges of the bee using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Cut Apart paper out of the Strength of the Season Paper Pack, fussy cut the yellow leaf bunch and small medium bee. Ink the edges of the bee and leaf bunch using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Strength of the Season Ephemera, you'll need the keep your face quote, three branches, three sunflowers, three yellow leaves, leaf bunch, four leaves, three rounded leaves, two berry bunches and one set of two berries. Fussy cut around all of the elements except the quote, this will get rid of the white outline. Ink the edges of the all of the elements using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
On the bottom portion of the door handle plate, adhere two small yellow leaves, both single berries, purple leaf, yellow leaf bunch, small bee, medium sunflower and the longest branch as desired. When adhering the elements, I used a variety of glue dots, sookwang tape and 3D foam squares to add dimension as desired. You'll also want to make sure the two holes at the bottom of the handle plate are still visible.
On the middle right side of the door handle plate, adhere one rounded blue leaf, the green leaf bunch and the large sunflower as desired. When adhering the elements, I used a variety of glue dots and 3D foam squares to add dimension as desired. You'll also want to make sure the large hole in the middle of the handle plate is still visible.
Above the large sunflower on the right hand side of the door plate, adhere the medium length branch, the teal leaf bunch, teal and patterned leaf, orange rounded leaf and purple berry bunch as desired.
When adhering the elements, I used a variety of glue dots and sookwang tape. You'll also want to make sure that the small hole at the top right of the handle plate is still visible. Adhere the medium bee to the top left side of the large sunflower. Make sure that you can see a bit of the hole in the middle of the handle plate.
On the top left hand side of the door plate, adhere the last branch, teal berry bunch, rounded blue leaf, patterned yellow leaf and purple berry bunch as desired. When adhering the elements, I used a variety of glue dots and sookwang tape. You'll also want to make sure that the small hole at the top left of the handle plate is still visible.
Adhere the last sunflower to the left side of the quote. I made sure you could see half of the sunflower. Use adhesive and 3D Foam squares to adhere the quote over top of the sunflowers and partially over the medium bee.
To finish the altered door handle plate, tie a piece of white seam binding ribbon through the top two holes. Knot the ribbon on the backside of the door handle plate.
Here are a few closeup photos of the finished altered door handle plate.
