Hello, Jenn here, and I am so excited to be using the new Forever and Always collection from Wild Whisper!!! It's just so pretty :) I started my layout by choosing the peachy paper with white hearts as my background. I added some Gesso and mother-of pearl paste to the centre of the paper which gave me a great home for my picture. The picture I'm using is a selfie of my son and I at Mosai-Canada last summer and the florals in this collection are a perfect match.
I went through the card pack and pulled out a few cards with flowers on them to fussy cut, and also fussy cut some of the florals from the cut apart sheet. To add some fun interest and texture to my flower clusters I went through my stamp sets from previous collections and used the flowers from the No Place Like Home stamps with some Tim Holtz Distress Oxides. I experimented a little bit with mixing the colours, and was able to match the beautiful peaches and blues from the collection. I also discovered that if you stamp the center of the flower, meant to layer over top of the solid flower, several times on top of each other, rotating the stamp slight each time, you get a pretty cute looking succulent!!! I made three little flower clusters around the photo, using pop dots under some flowers to add lots of dimension.
I also pulled out my Strong and Free stamp set and stamped the fox, again using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxides. I couldn't decide if I like the fox better in the peachy tones or the bluish tones, so in the end, I used one of each!
I really love the 4x3 card that is grey with flowers on it and I really wanted to us it in the layout, so I decided to add it as a pop of colour to three sides of the layout by ripping the background paper and and adding some of the grey card behind each rip. This also gave me a darker neutral on the layout that really helps to give some contrast to the light colours, and makes them stand out. I added a tag from my stash as another touch of grey, and used it to write my title, Mama & Fox, and also used a grey pen to write my little bit of journalling.
To finish this layout I added a wood veneer branch to each cluster from the matching wood veneer set, and some wood veneer hearts from my stash to to the little ripped areas. Then, of course, I scattered sequins from the matching exclusive SpiegelMom Scraps mix, as well as some from my stash, all over!
