Hello Creative Friends! Today I wanted to share with you an easy Deco Foil Christmas card using the NWD Baubles and Bows collection from Wild Whisper Designs. I love the black and white images on this paper and how well it works with Deco Foil.
For these cards I started with adding two layers of Deco Foil Adhesive pen to the Christmas lights. Make sure to let the adhesive dry between layers. I find two layers of adhesive gives you a better foil transfer.
Once dry and tacky, add a Deco Foil transfer sheet. Make sure that the colored foil side is facing towards you before you apply it to the sheet. You can either use a cold or hot transfer technique for the foil.
For a cold transfer, use an embossing machine or rub with your finger to transfer the images. For a hot transfer, sandwich your paper and Deco Foil between two pieces of parchment paper and run through your laminator.
From this you will get two different effects. With the heat from the laminator, it will not only cover the areas that you added adhesive but will also add foil to the black areas of the patterned paper. From the cold transfer, it will only stick to the adhesive, so this gives you two different options for the final look of the card.
Using the Ledger & Script and Brush Script stamp sets, stamp “Merry & Bright” using Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink and Ranger Archival Jet Black ink to create the sentiment. Mat the sentiment and attach to the card.
I hope that you will give this easy Deco Foil Christmas card a try. Happy cardmaking!
