Hi friends!
Autumn is my absolute favorite season and I just adore all of the fun fall activities. Living in Arizona, we don't have quite as many options as when I was growing up in Michigan but we try to find fun holiday things to do with the kids. The pumpkin patch is definitely one of those "must do" things each year on our list. The Halloween Night collection was absolutely perfect to document one of those trips. I just love this collection because it is so versatile and will work with both pictures of young and older family members.
I started out knowing that I just had to fussy cut the labels patterned paper and use it as the main embellishment on my layout. I also loved the idea of combining the distressed lines paper in both the black and white version on the same layout. I used a simple horizontal block design because I wanted to use all three of my 4x4 photos and make sure that they stayed the focus of the layout.
For the border underneath my photos, I wanted to add some extra dimension so I used dimensional foam adhesive to pop some of the labels off the layout while leaving others flat. I also nestled my title into that area so that the strong horizontal lines didn't get interrupted with my title being elsewhere.
I added just a touch of pen detailing with orange marker to the background paper to add just a little more interest as well as a pop of color. Adding just a touch of tan burlap also helped to add some additional texture and dimension.
This layout came together pretty quickly and this collection is definitely one that you need on your want list! Make sure to stop by and check out the process video over on my You Tube channel as well!
