Rock On! by Jenn

Hello, Jenn here with another fun Feel the Beat layout.  I have been loving this collection and once I started using it I couldn't stop.  For this layout, I actually used the back of my previous layout.  I do this quite often when I like both sides of a paper and want to create two layouts that would go back to back in an album.  In this case I really loved both sides of this paper and also felt that both sides worked so well for the pictures I wanted to scrap.  The nice thing about Wild Whisper paper is that it is so nice and thick, with a glossy texture which means that the paper is strong enough to hold up to embellishments on both sides, and doesn't have a lot of bleed-through if you've used a little bit of mixed media, stamping, or inking.

My plan for this layout was to use the sequins from the matching exclusive SpiegelMom Scraps sequins mix to enhance the beams of light on the paper.  I started by matting my photo, and choosing my embellishments then placing them on the paper to give myself and idea of how I wanted the layout to look.  Then I dumped out the sequins and went to work sorting them all into the their colours.  You don't realize how many sequins are in those little bags until you've emptied the bag and gone through them all!!!

I pulled out all of the holographic, light blue, dark blue, and purple sequins, then picked a beam of light to match each colour, on the paper and filled it with the sequins.  Once the sequins were glued down and secure, I went ahead and finished the layout.  I placed the photo right in the bottom center where the beams of light all emanate from, using foam tape to add some dimension.  I fussy cut a few circles from the 12x12 circle paper, and used some pieces from the ephemera pack as embellishments in three clusters.  I also used some stickers and puffy stickers from Crate Paper's All Heart collection in each embellishment cluster, and added a Feel the Beat flair to one cluster as well.  I chose some of the music notes from the ephemera pack to scatter through out the background as well.  I finished the layout with a little bit of journalling and some gold splatters!

This layout was so fun to make and I just love how the sequins sparkle and really bring the layout to life.  They definitely give you the feeling of being right there at the Panic! At the Disco concert again.  Head over to my process video if you'd like to see how this layout came together and also see how I used the Feel the Beat collection to scrap the pocket pages on either side of these two layouts.  Remember to use discount code DTJENN at checkout when you are purchasing the Feel the Beat collection for 10% off.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and until next time, Happy Scrapping :)
