Hello, Jenn here with a layout using the super fun Just Because collection!!! I couldn't wait to start using this collection, well, just because it is so bright and bold, and interesting.
I started my layout by punching some large and small squares from each sheet of 12x12 paper. I cut some vellum into squares that were in between the two sizes I punched from the papers, and then randomly layered the large, medium and small squares on top of each other, which I sewed together with black thread, using my sewing machine.
I lightly drew a diamond shape onto my white cardstock background, where I wanted me layered embellishments to go and then used that outline to paint some bold black stripes onto the cardstock. I used black Dylusions acrylic paint for my stripes and left some spots thicker and thinner to create interest in the background. Once the paint was dry I also sewed some lines through the black stripes with black thread.
I placed all my layered squares, like diamonds, in a diamond pattern on the background. I found it was easiest to place my four points first, using a rule to give me an idea of where the middle of the paper was on all sides, and then just fill in the diamond shape. Since I had drawn some lines to help me paint, it also gave me an idea of what the diamond would like look. I added two plain mattes behind my photo and then adhered it above the diamonds. I added my title "September Snow Cutiez" with white chipboard thickers.
To embellish my diamonds, I added some of the , as well as some little cork hearts from SpiegelMom Scraps, and some enamel triangles and dots. I scattered some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins, and then splattered some white Shimmerz paint.
I absolutely love how this turned out! The bright bold colours are so fun and the black and white from the background help to enhance the colours even more.
