Hello, Jenn here with another fun layout using the Just Because collection. This collection is perfect for all of those photos that you take... just because... and I found one of those photos the other day that was just waiting to be scrapped with these papers.
I started with a piece cardstock from my stash that I could use as a base. I cut all of my papers about 2-3 inches above the manufacturer strips so that I could layer them with the manufacturers strip, from the bottom of the page up to the top. I used an extra piece of paper to finish the top and make my custom paper fill the 12x12 size.
Next I used some white acrylic paint to create a little background where I want my picture to go. I used the white paint as a way to tone down all the patterns and give your eye a place to rest on the photo. This really helps to make sure that the picture is the main focal point on the layout and doesn't compete with all the fun patterns and bold colours. I also splattered some paint all over. While the paint dried I created some mattes behind my photo. I added foam in between some of the layers to add a lot of dimension which will also help the photo to stand out even more.
Once the white paint was dry, I added some black paint stripes and splatters. Around the photo I put three Just Because Flair, with some yellow embroidery thread. I found a little white glitter foam heart that I added to the photo, and a few other random yellow embellishments. I used them to create an extra little embellishment cluster down in the bottom left where I added my title, Smile!
