Hello, Jenn here! Happy October :) Fall is my favourite time of year, and I especially love Halloween so I was incredibly excited to start using Wild Whisper's new Halloween Night collection. I do a quick unboxing of all of the new collections in today's process video so be sure to check that out for all of the gorgeous new products.
I chose the haunted house 12x12 paper from Halloween Night for my first layout. I just love this paper and decided to make a very simple layout with it so that I didn't cover up too much of the house. Those boarded up windows were just begging me to be cut open so that's what I did. I have a package of little self-laminating sheets meant for laminating business cards and small things like that, and I used one to create a shaker pocket with the Halloween Night exclusive sequins mix. I like that the little laminating sheets hold the sequins in place so when you shake them, some sequins move around and some stay put! I put a shaker pocket behind the top window, and behind the left side window, adhering them with washi tape to the back of the layout. I placed my photo in the middle window, using the orange skulls on the back of the haunted house paper as a matte for my photo.
I didn't want to add too many extra embellishments to the layout because, again, I wanted to have the cool haunted house be the main feature of the layout, so I went through some Halloween die cuts that I have and picked out some glittery black spiders, bats, and a ghost. I placed the ghost peeking out of the top window and the large spider and web at the left side window. I put a few smaller spiders crawling up the right side of the house, and the bats flying around in the sky above the house. I also found the word spooky to use as my title, which I put above my picture, and a little swirly die cut that I put at the bottom of the picture with the Halloween Night flair button.
To finish the layout, I scattered some more of the matching sequins around, and splattered some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Tinsel. Finally, I used a white gel pen to draw a sketchy outline around the edge of the layout to create a frame. I love how by using only two colours, black and orange, a simple layout can be so striking!!! This is such a great Halloween collection and I can't wait to use it all up :) Thank you so much for stopping by.
