Happy Monday and welcome to the blog. We hope that you had a lovely weekend and perhaps these incredible projects by Nathalie DeSousa will cure your work week blues. She has used several different stamp sets on two different Traveller's Notebook spreads, with a process video at the end. We know you will enjoy this and we will let Nathalie take it from here!
Hello everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the beautiful (and rather warm) Fall season. I love FALL, I think besides Christmas, it is one of my most captured and documented times of the year. So today, I want to share with you a few entries of my personal Journal using the new Sweater Weather collection.
For my first entry, I chose to use the Sweater Weather Stamp, and some of the Collection’s journal cards to document one of the beautiful sunrises we experience during this season. The stamp actually has two phrases that caught my eye immediately, and summed up my sentiment about this day, “GOOD MORNING” & “THANKFUL”. Using a stamping platform, Archival ink (in Watering Can), and Mixed Media paper, I created the background for one of the pages of my TN. The phrases were stamped continuously on the page, making sure to fill it up completely; the page was then glued to the TN.
The picture was trimmed so that it can sit on both pages of the TN. Since there are shades of purple in the picture, one of the Journal Cards from the collection was added as layer behind the picture on the non-stamped page of the spread. To add embellishments on this page, I simply used the Focus on You, and Rooted Love collection stamp to add a few images on the picture. A Spiegelmom Scraps small cork heart was then added to complete the cluster on this corner of the picture.
The title for this page was also created using the Sweater Weather stamp set. The large sentiment from the set was stamped onto white cardstock with black ink, and then fussy cut . A small piece of foam adhesive secures it to the page, and makes it pop from the picture. I love how easy and fast this page came together. The colors in the Sweater Weather collection are perfect to document the season!!!
My second spread is all about what I call “Leaf Splendor”. First the picture was printed so that it fits the page of the TN; after gluing it to the page, the Sweater Weather stamp set was used to add the large sentiment title to the bottom of the picture. Also, the World's Best and No Place Like Home stamp sets were used to add a few more sentiments and images onto the picture.
To put emphasis on the story of the picture, the leaf images in the Sweater Weather stamp set were used to create a few images onto watercolor paper using black archival ink. To add color to the leaves, a small wash of shimmery watercolor was added, and then each image was fussy cut.
The large Sweater Weather collection journal cards are beautiful, and many come with lines where your journal can be added. I cut one of them to fit to the width of the TN page and glued it to the other page of the TN making, sure it was at the same level as my doggie on the opposite page. All the fussy cut leaves were then glued around this journaling spot, to create a cluster around it.
To finish the page, a few more images from the Rooted Love collection were added around the journaling spot. If you want a more in-depth look at how this came together, you are welcome to watch the following video, so enjoy:
I hope this inspires you to check the new collection. If you are a FALL fanatic, then this is a must-have for your stash! Remember, I am a comment away if you have more questions on how this came together. See you all soon!!
