Wander Altered Embroidery Hoop by Katelyn

Hey Wild Whisper Fans, Katelyn here! I've been loving creating with all of the new collections and today I'm sharing with you my Wander Altered Embroidery Hoop. To create my altered embroidery hoop, you'll need the Where to Next? Collection. Grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Wander Altered Embroidery Hoop at home.
To start, you'll need a 8" embroidery hoop. Separate the two hoops and apply Gathered Twigs Distress Stain twice to each of the pieces. Once the pieces have dried, rub Ground Espresso Distress Crayon along the top side of the hoops.
Next, you'll need the leather looking paper out of the Where to Next? Paper Pack. Trace the large hoop around the paper and cut the circle out. Ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Next, trace a 6 1/4" circle onto the airplane paper out of the paper pack. Cut the circle out. Ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose two border strips from the bottom of the papers. Cut one border strip 6" and cut the other borders trip to 5 1/2". On the left hand side of each border strip, notch the ends with scissors. Ink the edges of both border strips using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Cut Apart paper, fussy cut the four cameras, the globe, airplane, luggage and circle with images around it. Cut the circle with images around it in half. Ink the edges of all of the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Where to Next? Card Pack, you'll need the large Photos are return tag card. Fussy cut the tag out. Cut the tag down to 4". Ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
From the Where to Next? Ephemera Package, you'll need two luggage pieces, three airplanes, two airplane stamps, large tag, globe and three word strips. Fussy cut the large tag and luggage pieces out. Ink the edges of all of the pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Choose one of the Where to Next? Flair.
Nest the two embroidery hoop pieces together. Adhere the airplane paper circle to the leather paper circle. Adhere the embroidery hoop to the leather paper circle.
Adhere the 6" border strip 2" from the bottom and 1/2" from the left of the embroidery hoop. Foam square the tag 2" from the top and 3 3/4" from the left of the embroidery hoop. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the 5 1/2" border strip 1 3/4" from the bottom and 3/4" from the left of embroidery hoop.
Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the right half of the circle with images to the middle right hand side of the tag. Adhere the world image to the top left corner of the tag. Adhere the other half of the circle with images to the middle left side of the tag. Make sure that some of the globe stays shown.
Adhere the large camera 2 1/2" from the top of the embroidery hoop and 3" from the left of the embroidery hoop. Adhere the two individual luggage pieces to the bottom left side of the tag, underneath the border strips as desired.
Adhere the blue airplane to the top left portion of the tag. Foam square the wander word strip to the top of the tag. Adhere the yellow airplane stamp slightly underneath the world image. Foam square the Where to Next? and Stories to tell strips in line with the "Photos" and "Are A Return" from the tag. Foam square the globe image 1 1/2" from the bottom and 1 3/4" from the left of the embroidery hoop. Adhere the flair button to the bottom right side of the globe.
Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the square camera to the bottom right side of the luggage. Adhere one of the black airplanes to the left of the square camera. On the right hand side of the embroidery hoop, adhere the luggage pieces, two cameras, the airplane stamp and large tag as desired.
At the top of the embroidery hoop, tie a black bow. With the bow tied, add a piece of black twine to the back of the hoop to be able to hang it in any area of your home.
